Antennas for the RUT276 (don’t waste your throughput)
The RUT276 uses 2× SMA (Main / Aux) for cellular.
Because RedCap is still 5G, antenna quality still matters.

External MIMO antennas
For any industrial deployment where reliability matters, use an external MIMO antenna.
Recommended setup:
- Outdoor antenna (roof, wall, mast)
- Short, low-loss cable
- Keep cable <10 metres if you can
More signal = more stability = fewer callouts.
And fewer callouts = money saved.
IoT SIM Cards for 5G RedCap Routers
This is the part everybody overlooks.
A RedCap router gives lower latency and better reliability,
but only if the SIM card supports it.
Don’t waste a 5G router by using a £5 consumer data SIM.
What you want:

- Private IP or CGNAT
- No inbound access from the internet
- APN access + VPN / RMS access for remote management
